We carried out a food drive at Kyoto headquarter and Yokohama office!

We carried out a food drive at the Kyoto headquarter and Yokohama office to raise awareness of food waste reduction and to support people in need food assistance due to the covid-19 crisis.

[ROHM Kyoto headquarter]
Food drive was carried out for 3 days from January 12th to 14th, 2021.
Most of the employees donated was motivated by the news about childrens in need recently increasing because of COVID-19.
Although most of the employees working at home to prevent the spread of COVID-19, there were some employees bringing 10kg of rice from home for donation.
In the end, we have donated 82.5kg of food to NPO Second Harvest Kyoto, including 9 boxes of stockpiled food for emergencies ROHM prepared, 3 boxes of containers donated by employees such as rice, retort pouch foods, canned foods, and sweets.


[Yokohama office]
ROHM Yokohama technology Center, LAPIS Semiconductor Co., Ltd., and LAPIS Technology Co., Ltd. jointly participated in the "YOKOHAMA Food Drive Campaign" hosting by Yokohama City, and held an in-house food drive from December 7th to December 10th, 2020 for 4 days .
We set up container boxes during the morning commute and lunch break, and a total of 289 groceries (weight 67.5 kg) were donated.
The donated food collected in the "YOKOHAMA Food Drive Campaign" will be delivered to children's cafeterias and single-parent families through four food banks in Yokohama City and the Social Welfare Council.


*We have taken necessary precautions to prevent the spread of COVID-19 both in Kyoto and in Yokohama.

By the survey conducted by Yokohama office after the food drive, we have found out that many employees knew "food drive" for the first time. Moreover, we have recieved various new ideas for next food drive activities.

The ROHM Group will continuously try to solve social issues through its business activities, and also continue to distribute information and initiatives related to social issues to our employees regularly and promote community contribution activities as a corporate citizen.
