Notice of participation in the Ministry of the Environment's "#Green for the Environment Day" campaign
ROHM is participating in the Ministry of the Environment's campaign "#Environment Day is Green" to raise awareness of "Environment Day" and environmental issues. ROHM Kyoto Building in front of Kyoto station will be lit up in a bright green color reminding of young grass.
The ROHM Kyoto Building uses electricity generated from renewable energy sources (*). In addition, ROHM's full-color LED and other technologies can express colors and lighting patterns (patterns) that match the seasons. This technology is used to create a delicate Japanese sense of the seasons and Kyoto's traditions throughout the year in this building. *The "ROHM Kyoto Ekimae Building" has achieved 100% renewable energy by procuring 100% renewable energy-derived electricity from fiscal 2021. In addition, on the 16th of every month, we participate in the "DO YOU KYOTO?" event promoted by the City of Kyoto to turn down the lights.
・About "Environment Day"
The Basic Environment Law (enacted in 1993) designates June 5 as "Environment Day" (*), and every year the Ministry of the Environment designates June, which includes this day, as "Environment Month" and implements various initiatives.
This day was established to commemorate the United Nations Conference on the Human Environment held in Stockholm from June 5, 1972. In response to a Japanese proposal, the United Nations has designated June 5 as World Environment Day.
